We used the search engine in our everyday internet life so it is better for us to talk more about what search engine is in order for us to fully understand the importance of the search engine existence.

Search engines enable us to search and find relevant fact, data or information resources that we want to know or information that we are interested in. It can regain documents, data or files from different computer network with the use of the World Wide Web. Search engine gives meaning to our internet life so without it; we cannot use the internet in a substantial way.

Search engine consists three basic parts

  • a crawler (spider
  • an index or catalog.
  • a search interface

Crawler or Spiders

In order for as to fully understand the meaning of a web crawler, let us think of a spider, web crawler is basically just like a spider that crawls.

The crawler searches the web, and then follows the links then continuously updates and adding new pages every time you visit them. A frequently crawled page has a benefit of getting new sites, links and pages that crawled fast by continual linking to different powerful and fast changing page. Interesting documents has more chances of getting crawled. An interesting homepage, a popular static site or a fast growing forum might get crawled once every 10 minutes or even a dozen times each day.

The Index

The index is a portion where the crawler collects stored data. When you are searching some topics that interest you in the search engine, you cache on the web provided by the search engine’s index. Search engines arranged their contents by means of “reverse index.” Reverse index sorts the web documents by words. Search engine do not stored punctuations, just words.

The purpose of search index is to modify performance and speed relative to the documents that you search on a search query. Without an index, the search engine would probably scan every relevant and irrelevant document available on the web that would consume time and power.

The Search Interface

If you want to find the most relevant data, files or documents in the index based on the search then search interface works with it by trying to find the user intent by means of looking at the words that the searcher typed in. These terms can be stripped to their root level to see what concepts it represents. The terms that matches closely will help you rank for the related similar terms.

For example, using the word dances could help you identify or rank it by dance or dancing. The search engine will try to search the matching keyword vectors in each of the specific terms in your query. If the search terms occur to be near each other often, the search engine may understand the phrase as a single unit and return data, information, file or document related to the given phrase.

The internet is full of data than the numerous numbers of stars in the universe. There are about uncountable numbers of blogs, forums, and websites are created every second but the only way of finding out the most relevant data is simply through the help of a search engine which has become part of the everyday surfing life for everybody who uses internet. Imagine life without search engine; imagine life without Google, Bing or Yahoo! Search engine optimization orange country has an important role now a day.
